“And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.” Matthew 26:75
A crowded restaurant and you look around to see if anyone is looking at you, you bow your head and very quickly say the fastest prayer before you start eating your meal.
Reading your Bible in an empty coffee shop, but you notice people coming in so you put your Bible away and start reading a magazine.
You are grocery shopping and notice the cashier looking very sad and her eyes are watery. You don’t make eye contact with her, you don’t tell her that Jesus loves her no matter what she is feeling. That is she needs prayer, you can pray for her or with her and wait for her to go on break. You don’t even smile at her.
It was Peter who would remain true to the Lord in the face of Emperor Nero to the point of his own death. Our failure does not have to tarnish the rest of our time of service. The message of Peter is one of hope that we can turn back to God when we find that we have not upheld Jesus Christ. Peter shows that there is hope for each of us when we come up short of what God expects from us.
Lord I pray that You continue to show us how to love others the way You do. Help us Jesus to continue to be the light in this world. We know that others will not like us because we Love You, but keep reminding us that You love us, and that is all we need! Thank you Jesus for loving us so much, everyday. I ask that You continue to pour Your Grace and Forgiveness in our life. I ask for Your guidance and discernment in all things. Use our life to give You all the Glory and Honor. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
“If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” (Mark 8:38 NLT)
